Kodykoala's Custom Prince Imrahil

Kodykoala's Custom Prince Imrahil

the great fief of Belfalas, dwelt Prince Imrahil in his castle of Dol Amroth by the sea, and he was of high blood, and his folk also, tall men and proud with sea-grey eyes. --The Return of the King, LoTR Book 5, Ch 1, Minas Tirith

Here is a commission piece that I did that is a bit of a change from my usual. I love the LOTR series, so I thought that this would be a great way to show my love. I used Boromir's legs, a Gondorian Soldier's torso and arms, and an Eomer head. The symbol on the armor was carved out of Apoxie Sculpt. All figures are from the LOTR figure line. I made the base from scratch using LEGO bricks, rocks, and model train trees.

Kodykoala's Custom Zombie Gameboy Color

Kodykoala's Custom Zombie Gameboy Color

After making the original Zombie Gameboy, I thought it would be interesting to make a gameboy color version. This was a commission that I completed a couple of weeks ago, and I thing this came out a lot better than the original. I used hands from a Cletus robot, and I used feet from a Minion from Megamind. This one is a lot more sturdy, and stands so much better. After doing this, I got some good ideas for some other non-zombie transformations for a gameboy.

If you would like to see more pictures, please go to My Flickr Page. I have been really busy with commissions lately, but I actually have a few ideas that I have also been working on, so hopefully I will get some time to complete these. If you would like to see what I am working on, please like me on Facebook.
Kodykoala's Custom Juliet vs. Zombies

Kodykoala's Custom Juliet vs. Zombies

Here is Juliet done up in a Pinky Street Style. I was originally just going to do Juliet, but I thought she needed to have someone to kill. I found this great Disco Zombie, and I thought it worked with the Pinky Street Style.

I used Pinky Street parts for Juliet, a Disco Zombie from the PC game, and a bunch of LEGO tiles for the concrete. I really love the look of Pinky Street figures, but I hate the fact that the bodies are so flexible. I had to put in a wire inside Juliet's body to make sure she stays standing up. I have had to actually go back and do this with all my Pinky Street Customs.

If you would like to see more pictures, please go to My Flickr Page. Unfortunately this is not for sale. I gifted it to Jessica Nigri so that she can help me spread the word about my customs. If you are interested in a custom figure, please email me at donald.c.kennedy2@gmail.com and we can work out a commission. I am booked until Christmas, so I cannot have anything made for Christmas of 2012, but if you are not on a time constraint, let me know. Thanks.
Kodykoala's Ninja Turtle Mech

Kodykoala's Ninja Turtle Mech

Here is my Giant Ninja Turtle Mech. He stands at about 12 inches. I found this awesome Ninja Turtle from the 90s, and I knew I had to turn it into something. It was hollow, so I figured I would give it the Mech makeover. I used a bunch of robot parts and LEGO pieces I had and I wired it so that the cockpit and the eye lights up. The shell is removable so that you can take the figure out. This is another one I have been working of for a while. I wanted it to be just right, and I ran into a lot of problems with this. I am glad to see it finally finished.

Kodykoala's Custom Super Mario Gun

Kodykoala's Custom Super Mario Gun

I have really been into making custom Nerf guns lately, so I decided to try to make one for good ol' Mario. Here is what I imagine it would look like. The ammo of choice is a Bullet Bill, and of course there is a working flashlight for all those dark pipes he has to explore. I wanted to incorporate as much of the Mushroom Kingdom as I could with this gun, so I also added Piranha plants on the sides and a super star on the back. I had to take out the functionality of shooting darts, so I added a sound every time you pull the trigger. It is the sound of Mario getting bigger.

I used a Nerf Nite Finder, Mag lite mini flashlight, PVC pipe, and an old Super Mario Sound Drop key chain that I had lying around. This was a lot of fun, and I am thinking about doing a Pokemon style gun next, but I am not sure. If you would like to see more pictures, please go to My Flickr Page. I have also opened a new area in my store where I am selling Custom Painted Guns for cosplay and costumes. My Mario gun is available there if you are interested in purchasing it. I have decided to try to expand my toy horizons, but I am still going to be doing a lot of figures. I currently have three in the works that I know everyone will like.

I also want to remind everyone that there is only six more days for the raffle of the Hungry Hungry Koopas game. I have sold about half the tickets already, so get them while you can in My Store's Raffle Section. Time is running out to get your tickets and I really want everyone to have a chance to own this unique piece.
Kodykoala's Custom Business Card Holder

Kodykoala's Custom Business Card Holder

Here is a custom business card holder that I made for El Paso Comic Con. I used toys that I had lying around like a Burger King Donkey Kong toy, and Ironman figure and an extra Skylanders figure. I was also messing around with how to make Apoxie sculpt look like rock. I think it came out good. I think that next time I will use a flat clear coat though. If you would like to see more pictures, please go to My Flickr Page.

I also want to remind everyone that I am raffling the Hungry Hungry Koopas game. I am only selling 300 tickets for $3 a piece, so chances of winning are really good. I have sold about half the tickets already, so get them while you can in My Store. Time is running out to get your tickets.
Kodykoala's Custom Battle Damaged Protoman

Kodykoala's Custom Battle Damaged Protoman

Here is another commission that I did. I wanted to focus on Protoman's shield for this one, and I like how the face turned out with the eyeball behind the glasses. This took me about 15 hours to complete and I used a vinyl Protoman and random robot parts and wires. If you would like to see more pictures, please go to My Flickr Page.

I also want to remind everyone that I am raffling the Hungry Hungry Koopas game. I am only selling 300 tickets for $3 a piece, so chances of winning are really good. I would love to have this go to someone who will appreciate the piece, not just someone who can afford to pay for it. It is a lot of fun for kids and adults, and I can't wait to see who the lucky winner is.
Kodykoala's Custom Hungry Hungry Koopas

Kodykoala's Custom Hungry Hungry Koopas

Here is Hungry Hungry Koopas. This one has been a long time in the making. I have been working on this on and off since January. Initially I was going to use Koopa Troopas, but I decided that using the Koopa Kids would give it an extra flare. Each "Hippo" took about 10 hours to complete, and the main base took about the same, so I would have to say that the whole build took about 50 hours. The brick pattern was carved into each of the bases using an exacto knife. I also wanted to try a different style intn terms of how I painted this. I wanted this to look good and be functional.

I clear coated this 4-5 times to make sure that the paint would not come off when being played with. I printed the label using a laser printer and then I put a clear coat over it, so that the label would stay intact.

This piece will be available at El Paso Comic Con starting September 14th. If it does not sell, it will be available on my website. If you would like to see more pictures, please go to My Flickr Page.
Kodykoala's Wheatley Body

Kodykoala's Wheatley Body

Atlas and P-body both have bodies and can walk around, where as Wheatley never really had the ability to walk around on his own. Here is what I think his body would look like if he were in charge of making it. I tried to stay true to the color schemes, and I even made a companion cube to go with him. I used a Wheatley key chain, Cleatus torso, and Stel arms and legs. The gun was sculpted from scratch. Wheatley is removable and the light still works, so you can still turn him on.

Kodykoala's Battle Damaged Megaman

Kodykoala's Battle Damaged Megaman

This is my latest commissioned piece. They buyer wanted an Anatomy of Megaman, but I do not redo old work, so this was what I came up with. You still get to see the Blue Bomber's insides, just a little messier. I wanted it to look like this was his final stand and that he is using all he has left to shoot the final shot. I love the way the paint job came out.
