Kodykoala's Pink Zombie Yoshi

Kodykoala's Pink Zombie Yoshi

Here is my last commission piece. I really wanted to do something different with this one than the other two iterations. I was requested to keep the tongue, but I was free to do whatever else I wanted, so I had a little fun. My favorite part is the cute little worm coming out of the nose. I also love the one eye that looks sunken in.

If you are interested in having me do a commission, please email me at donald.c.kennedy2@gmail.com. To see more pictures, please go to My Flickr page.
Kodykoala's Custom Pikachewie Figure

Kodykoala's Custom Pikachewie Figure

cub1k on deviantart created an awesome mash-up of Pikache and Chewbacca. In honor of such an awesome creation, I made this figure to go with it. I love Pokemon and Star Wars, so this is just double love.

I used a Jakks 2007 Electronic Pikachu and I covered him in Apoxy sculpt and made him look hairy. Their wasn't a whole lot of material involved, just a lot of time to groove all of it. It probably took a good 10 hours to make the hair look perfect. If you would like to see more, please go to My Flickr Page.
Kodykoala's Real Sonic the Hedgehog

Kodykoala's Real Sonic the Hedgehog

I have made a real Mario, Wario, Toad, Luigi, and Princess Peach, but what about our animal friends from Sega? Here is Sonic the hedgehog as I think he would look like as a real hedgehog (As real and he can be with big shoes and hands anyways). I have seen a lot of people try to bring him to life with photoshopped pictures, but I thought he deserved an awesome figure. This figure stands about 2 inches tall.

I used a Schleich hedgehog and the hands and feet from a gashapon Sonic figure. I had the Chaos Emeralds lying around in my fodder box. I was trying to make something that was a little more affordable for Sale at the El Paso Comic Con. How much do you think this should go for? Parts cost me about $10, and it didn't involve a lot of labor. Currently, I have two made, and I think I will make a few more, but with different accessories (I don't have anymore Chaos Emeralds).

If you would like to see more, please go to My Flickr Page. I am trying to come up with some more simpler ideas for the comic con, so keep an eye out.
Kodykoala's Custom Gutsman Operation

Kodykoala's Custom Gutsman Operation

I have finally finished my Gutsman Operation game. This is a working game that works just like regular operation, except the board is using a Jazwares Gutsman vinyl, so the board is a little more 3D. I used an Ironman Operation game for the little pieces ,the graphics for the cards, and the frame for the game. I used wire to line the holes for the pieces and I just wired the old Operation insides to work with this. I damaged the cards and money to match the stressed look of the board.

The money, box art, and instructions were custom made in Photoshop. It was a lot of fun putting together all these pieces to get a great game together. If you would like to see more pictures, please go to My Flickr Page. I also have video showing that it really works on Youtube. I haven't decided whether I am going to sell this one yet, but when I do, I will let you know here. I may save it for El Paso Comic Con, but it will depend on how much notice I get with it also.

This wasn't the only game I am working on. The next one will be a lot of fun. I will give you a hint, the next one will have to do with the classic game Hungry, Hungry, Hippos.

Kodykoala's Custom Sonic Mech

Kodykoala's Custom Sonic Mech

This is the first time that I have tried doing a Sonic the Hedgehog figure. It's not that I have anything against Sonic, but the figures that are out right now are hard to work with. I found this Giant 90s style Sonic, and I new I had to turn him to a Mech. I used a 10 inch vinyl Sonic, a 2 inch Sonic figure, LEGO laptops, straight pins for the rivets, a Playmobil computer keyboard, and a piece from a Halo Ghost for the cockpit.

I had a few issues with getting this figure together, but the end result was worth the hassle. I need to get some pictures of Mecha Sonic, Mecha Mario, and Mecha Yoshi fighting. If you would like to see more pictures, please go to My Flickr Page. Currently this is not for sale, but if that changes I will be sure to post it here.
Kodykoala's Custom Koopa Airship Bookends

Kodykoala's Custom Koopa Airship Bookends

I have been wanting a custom set of bookends for a long time. I saw a Minimates pirate ship and thought it would be perfect for an airship. I have a bunch of Furuta Mario figures, so I picked the different Koopa kids for the ship. The front of the ship is a Bowser head that I cut and sculpted to fit the front. The propellers are LEGO pieces. The rest is mainly figure placement and repaint. I made the bookends blue to seem like it was flying in the sky. Unfortunately, this is not for sale, but if you would like to see more pictures, go to My Flickr Page.
Kodykoala's Custom Zombie Peach's Lair

Kodykoala's Custom Zombie Peach's Lair

This was originally designed for a commission, but the money never came through. I know I already did Zombie Peach, but this is a bit different, and it has her latest victim Mario's head. I wanted it to seem like she was at her zombie lair, so I put bones from other victims around her "dinner table."

I used a hard to find vinyl Princess Peach figure from China, so I couldn't remake this if I wanted to. The mushroom is actually from the same Peach figure, and the bones are from these skeletons I got from target this year at Halloween time.

Since I originally made this for a commission that fell through, I have put this up in My Store for the same price as the commission. If you want to see more pictures, please go to My Flickr Page.
Kodykoala's Custom Cave Story

Kodykoala's Custom Cave Story

I recently played Cave Story and I fell in love with it. I wanted to make a figure from that game. I looked up some pictures and found a great picture by glitcher from Deviantart.

I wanted to do this, but I was faced with a couple of problems...mainly the bubble. I was racking my brain, until I stumbled across a musical snow globe that would work perfectly. The dome is plastic, so the paint won't come off of it as easily as it would glass. The dome is also removable so that you can get a better look at the figures.

I thought that the Pinky Street form would work great, so I used them as the base. Quote's head is Ash's head from a pokemon figure.

Kodykoala's Custom Bowser Cosplay

Kodykoala's Custom Bowser Cosplay

I originally made this figure for a Halloween contest, but I didn't make the deadline, so I ended up adding a base and made it look like an attendant to San Diego Comic Con. I also gave him a bag full of stuff that he bought at the con.

For the Bowser body parts, I used a vinyl Bowser from ebay. For the figure, I used a playschool Luke Skywalker figure. He came with a cool helmet that could be taken off, so I put that on the inside of the mask to make sure it would fit right. The bag was printed, laminated, and then glued together. The toys are just random little toys that I had in my parts collection.

Kodykoala's Custom Alien Ipod Explosion

Kodykoala's Custom Alien Ipod Explosion

I was in the mood to destroy some of my old broken electronics, so I decided that after an old Gameboy, I need to do my first generation Ipod Nano. I did not want to do zombies again, and I found this really great alien in a box of old Creepy Freaks. The arms are some wire I had and the hands and feet are from a terminator toy.
